Red Joan (2018) – Friday January 17th 2020
Based on the true story of Joan Stanley, a retired widow, arrested by the British Secret Service for spying.  As interrogation gets underway, she relives her life and her beliefs from 1938 onwards, but did she really give away British secrets to the Russians as a KGB spy?  Cert 12A

A Beautiful Mind (2001) – Saturday 15th February 2020
At Princeton University in 1947, the asocial mathematician John Nash makes an astonishing discovery and stands on the brink of international acclaim.  After graduate school he turns to teaching and during this time the government asks his help in breaking Soviet codes, which soon gets him involved in a terrifying conspiracy plot.  He grows more and more paranoid and needs help to battle mental illness and regain his status as a great mathematician. Cert 12A

Swimming With Men (2018) – Saturday 29th February 2020
Eric Scott is estranged from his wife and his monotonous life is falling apart.  While swimming laps at the local pool he watches a men’s synchronized swimming team and after he has given them suggestions on how to make one of their moves work, they invite him to join the team.  Eric finds brotherhood and a way to feel good about himself again as they train for the world championships in Milan. Cert 12A

Green Book (2019) – Friday 3rd April 2020
Dr Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist who is about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962.  Tony Vallelonga, a nightclub bouncer from New York, is recruited as Shirley’s personal driver and minder on a tour through the Jim Crow south armed with The Green Book – a guide to hotels and restaurants hospitable to black people.  Despite their differences the unlikely pair embark on a road trip that’s bound to change both their lives. Cert 12A
